Service Description

Workplace essentials when working in a care facility or with children! This course is directed toward the staff of a facility involving first aid and cardio-respiratory emergencies. It is relevant for those involved in early childhood care/education, community or aged care & all workplace & community settings. It covers all the content of 'Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation', 'Provide basic emergency life support' in addition to topics covering other important skills for trauma and medical situations, with an additional focus on workplace documentation, debriefing emergencies, follow-up of workplace incidents. There are no prerequisite units. Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing resuscitation, including provision of CPR on the floor. Participants will also need oral communication skills in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency services & a workplace supervisor. It is recommended that participants have language, literacy & numeracy skills equivalent to level 2 of the Australian Core Skills Framework. The accredited training and assessment will be conducted by 'Help 4 Life first aid' under LivCor responsibility and direction.
